Vincent J. Wong is a Senior Technical Advisor for HIV Testing Services in the Office of HIV/AIDS and has been with USAID since 2009. He has served as co-chair of the PEPFAR HTC TWG since January 2010. Prior to USAID, Vincent worked within the HIV Department at the World Health Organization, Geneva, focusing on HIV testing and diagnosis within the “3 by 5” initiative, developing normative guidance, program resources, and tools, with a special focus on pediatric testing and key populations.
Additionally, he worked extensively in the private sector on research and development of HIV rapid diagnostic assays, and supported the expansion of early HIV VCT programs in a number of countries and regions. In 2005, he completed a Masters of Science in International Health and holds a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Public Health from Humboldt and Frei Universities in Berlin, Germany. In 1995, he earned a BA in Integrative Biology from the University of California Berkeley. He is currently based in Washington DC.
